Pixel Art is old. But not that old. As a digital art form, it dates from the 1960 when first computers were used to draw images. It was on the 1980 that the term was coined by Adele Goldberg and Robert Flegal at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, though Richard Shoup already have done pixel art on a SuperPaint system in 1972. Also at Xerox PARC.
